Busy, busy...

Wow, I cant believe that the year is almost gone! Its probably due to how busy life can get (one reason the blog has not been updated for a couple of weeks). Time seems to fly by when life is busy. Along with taking care of my pregnant wife, I have done a few photo shoots, amongst editing these photos and going to class this past few weeks. Among one of the shoots was this past weekend. My sister was a bit late on having her "Happy Holidays" card picture taken. She had asked me if I could shoot her and her husband this weekend. I must say it got cold very quick as the day got later. The shoot took place a bit after 4:30 pm, and the cold was creeping in. But we ended up with some very good shots. Among them is this fine beauty! Awesome lighting! and awesome color! Even though it was cold outside, it was so worth it! Here is to a happy holidays! Merry Christmas everyone! Have a wonderful holiday!

Family...

Isn't family just great? Especially this time of year. This coming Thursday is Thanksgiving and I sure have a ton to be thankful for. For one, I am thankful for my wife. She is amazing. We are due to have our first child this coming June. Something we have been waiting for, for longer then nine months. I am thankful for her and a family that puts up with my photography all the time. I love to shoot. I am thankful for my family. They all have been there for my wife and I this past year more then ever. Willing to help out where needed. I am thankful for the gift of photography and the talent to be able to share that with many others. I love looking at life through the lens and plan on sharing this view with all that I can for the rest of my life. I am thankful to my God, who makes each day a blessing! Without him in my life, I would not be able to share the gift of photography. Here are a few pictures that I recently took. The first one is my beautiful wife and the other two are of my beautiful niece. Thanks for reading! What are you thankful for?

Zeb---Shoot from 11.14.2009

Last weekend, I had the oppertunity to meet a few photographers from the area and also take part in a fun photoshoot! This is Zeb. He is a model here in Utah. He can be found at www.modelmayhem.com/1082623 which is a profile about him. These are some of the results that I got. I hope to be able to work with Zeb again in the future when a model is required. He was easy going and did what was asked of him.

Shoot from Saturday 11.7.09

I had the opportunity to do a shoot for this energetic little boy this past weekend! When I arrived at the house the family was watching Monsters Inc., love those type of movies by the way. I could tell how fun the shoot was going to be just from how energetic the young boy was and how excited his mother and father was. As we went out to shoot, his energy lasted the entire shoot. He just seemed it was as if we were playing and we were able to translate that energy into some really good results. His family is getting a portfolio together for him and hopefully we will see this young boy in some modeling soon! Regardless what outcome happens, we all still had a blast. Its always fun to know that the family was very happy with the results and we all had fun!

Shoot from Yesterday!

This was a fun shoot from yesterday! Missy and her kids. In her backyard is this awesome red barn. We did some pictures over by it. Wow does she have a very energetic son and a daughter who loves to have her picture taken! It is always fun when kids are involved in the picture! I have had the opportunity to photograph some other events for her and her family before, so it was fun to yet again go back and do some pictures of her and her kids. Her husband is out helping fight the war, and I am sure he has loved seeing all the pictures she has showed him! We moved over to her yard after, and the fall leaves have all fallen down to the ground. The kids sure loved playing in them and having their picture taken in them! It was a really fun shoot!

Weekend

Over this last weekend I had a lot going on! Among the few shoots I had, this was one of them. This is Holly and her son Evan. For this shoot we were up on the south side of the Salt Lake Valley. The fall colors are nice right now, and there is not a lot of time left for fall colors. It was also a very nice weekend, which always makes it easy to do shoots because no one is freezing and shivering while pictures are being taken. I just hope the colors stay for a couple of weeks to come for some upcoming shoots!

Blake Shaffer Skateboarding

I had the chance recently to shoot my cousin skateboarding. I am not used to shooting sports too much so it was fun getting out of the "norm" of portrait style shooting. Trying new things is how we grow right? Well we were supposed to go downtown for the shoot, but things changed and we ended up at the Draper skate park. When I got there the skating had already commenced. So I got the camera out and started shooting. I just let them all do what they do and stayed out of the way, but still got shots that I feel are sweet! I would like to get out and shoot some more of this style. Some time soon hopefully, though the weather is probably going to get a bit cold soon.

Kyle and Chiaki's Wedding

I had the great privilege of doing all the photography for my brothers wedding. The wedding took place on 10.10.09. His now wife is from Japan and is an English major. Some of her family was able to make it from Japan for the wedding. They spoke no english however so it was difficult communicating with them if there was no one to translate around. They were married at River Oaks Golf Course. It was nice that day but a bit cold. Here are a few pictures from the engagements and the bridals and also from the actual wedding day. It was fun just being the photographer, even if it was my brothers wedding. They were such a fun couple to work with! Thanks for looking.
